BetterU Academy

OUR PROCESS

Transform your game in one AAu Season

A different approach to AAU—built around real player development, athletic growth, meaningful exposure, and a culture that puts players and families first.

📋

Game-Ready Development

No more seasons of just playing games. Every practice is intentionally designed to develop skills, decision-making, and confidence that translate directly to the game.

📅

Transform as an athlete

Intentional athletic development built into our practices, with a focus on speed, explosiveness, jumping ability, and movement. Players will track measurable progress throughout the season—not just become better basketball players, but better athletes.

💳

Exposure & Recruiting

Compete in a variety of tournaments both in and out of state to give players meaningful opportunities to be seen. Every game is recorded, providing players with quality film they can use to showcase their game and connect with college programs.

Culture

A true family environment built on relationships, accountability, and shared growth. We want players to feel supported, challenged, and connected while becoming better teammates, leaders, and people.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Meet Coach Ian McKibben

I'm a current college athlete with 4 years of playing experience, and I've been coaching for 4 years now as well, working with players from elementary through high school. I focus on modern, evidence based training, using small sided games and live game scenarios, to help athletes actually translate skills to real game situations and keep improving year after year. I prioritize training in live, competitive environments against real defenders to ensure skills translate directly to game situations. By creating challenging and unique environments, I encourage players to think, make decisions, and perform with freedom, helping them build confidence and creativity on the court.
